Mom Cox

God has truly blessed me with a wonderful mother-in-law. When you marry into another family, you never truly know what to expect. You can spend time with the family, but until you have spent much time together, it's hard to know how your life will mesh with their lives. From the beginning my life has meshed beautifully with Mom Cox's life. She enjoys life and helps those around her enjoy life too. She's always amazed me with her jet-setting lifestyle. She has been to many exotic places overseas and has traveled extensively in the States as well. She lost her husband many years ago and finished raising four children by herself. As a single mother for eight years to one, I know this is no small task! She endures everything that comes in her life with such beautiful grace. When I lived near her I loved going to dinner; just the two of us. It was like girls' night on the town whenever we got together. I was privileged to be able to live with her for a month before we moved back to Illinois and those were great times too. She is a great cook and we shared many breakfasts and suppers together. Then we'd just sit and talk for hours. We never ran out of things to talk about. I'm enjoying similar times with her this week while she is visiting us in Illinois. After I cooked a supper of chicken parmesan, breadsticks and italian salad, we took our fleece throws and glasses of pink lemonade out to the porch to share more conversation and enjoy the country evening air. We listened to the bullfrogs and whippoorwills. We also heard the occasional fish splashing in the water. There is nothing like sharing the solitude and beauty of the country with a wonderful friend and that is what my sweet mother-in-law is to me. Thank you for being my friend, Mom Cox! Thank you for raising a wonderful son! I love you and am so thankful to have you in my life... and at my home this week! (She is pictured above with 3 of my nieces.)

I'm so happy that Mom Cox was able to come up for a visit, Christy. I am thankful that the two of you have such a good relationship. Looking forward to our dinner plans with you all tomorrow.
Love you!
