Happy Mother's Day!

It was a beautiful Mother's Day weekend! My weekend started with a Mother's Day Tea at church. For decorations, they used pics of the ladies from their youth... about 18 years of age for us older ones and I brought a 3 year old pic of Courtney. It was a lot of fun! I guessed most of them, but there were a few stumpers! At the end of the evening, we walked out into the foyer and found 2 little girls having a tea party. This was totally unscripted and so touching! The little princess on the left is a girl from our church and the princess on the right is my little cousin. We had so much fun watching them be ladies!!

I spent a little time with my grandparents and my aunt on Saturday afternoon. I took Mother's Day to my grandma because she is homebound. I still love to hear her sweet words and experience her sweet kisses. I will miss her so when God calls her home.

On Saturday evening I brought Mother's Day to my sister who is still recovering from her hospital stay and surgery. We always enjoy our girl time together!

Yesterday I spent the day with my mom. She was out of state for a little over a week and I missed her very much! She is my best friend and confidante. I would be lost without her. We were able to share a Mother's Day lunch together at Lone Star Steakhouse. One thing I love about mama... she ain't shy!! The manager gave us coupons for a free entree the next time we come in and then offered us free dessert for our meal that day. The choices were brownie sundae or cheesecake. Mom spoke up and said, "Well I'd really like some of your key lime pie!" with her sparkly big blue eyes and big smile. He couldn't resist... he said, "Okay, just for you ma'am." I loved it! And if you know me, you'll know I asked for the brownie sundae without delay. I do love my chocolate!!

I missed being with my mother-in-law this year. She lives in Texas and spent the day with my brother-in-law, his wife and their 7 yr. old daughter and 2 yr. old twin daughters. I know she enjoyed her day! She will be visiting us the end of May so we'll get in some good quality time then!

I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day or spent time with your mother or were at least able to talk to her on the phone. For those whose mothers have passed from this life, I pray that God's comfort was with you.

I'm sorry I missed the Tea, but you know I was afraid a certain someone would have asked me to speak again. :) Actually she hinted at it and I told her, "I got nothing...I gave you my all last year!" hehehe
I am happy we cut our trip short by a day so we could be together for Mother's Day. And Girl, that Key Lime Pie was so delicious! You know the Bible says we have not because we ask not! So my philosophy is "just ask"!
