Happy Friday to everyone. I'm ready for the weekend to begin! That could be because work is a little slow today. :)
On a sad note, my boss came in this morning and told me that her nephew, who was in his early 20s, passed away at a VA hospital in Topeka, KS last night. He has been a very troubled young man since coming back from an extended tour in Iraq a few months ago, but he was seemingly getting his life back together and was set to come home today. An autopsy is scheduled, but they have no idea how he died at this point. His roommate just rushed out to the nurse's station saying he wasn't breathing. They worked on him for over an hour to no avail. So instead of homecoming plans for his son, Pat's brother is making funeral arrangements. So sad! Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
Courtney's youth activity this evening is a corn maze in Alton, IL. That should be fun for her. Charles has been hard at work today on the house. I think he will start painting the ceilings tonight and then possibly start on walls tomorrow. So I have to pick out my colors. I already have them picked out, but we're going to try them on the walls first and make sure we like them on the walls as much as we did on the paint swatches.
So that will be my weekend. Hope yours is a fun one with family and friends. Hold them close while you have them!

Sounds like a fun weekend for you! I know you're getting so excited to be making visible progress now on the house. That's funny that Courtney is going to a corn maze tonight because I am planning to take Gentry on one in St. Charles tomorrow! It's that fun time of year where there are lots and lots of fall activites available to do. Hope the painting goes well and you like your colors. Are you planning to brush a few strokes on too?
