Youth Convention and Easter Preparations

Just wanted to take a minute and say I'm missing my girl who is in Springfield at Illinois Youth Convention. They left yesterday about 3:30 and they'll be coming back Saturday afternoon. I miss her wit and charm. You never know what she is going to say and it keeps us laughing for sure. God has given me a beautiful blessing and gift in my daughter. I spoke to her about midnight last night and they were eating at Denny's. Gotta love those late night restaurants!

I'm looking forward to our Easter weekend. Not only is it a time to remember Calvary and Jesus' resurrection, it is also a time for families to come together and celebrate and we are going to do just that. Melanie has once again opened her home to us and we are all pitching in to bring the food. My portion is pea salad, broccoli, cheese & rice and deviled eggs. Mom and Dad are providing a ham. Melanie's making green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and squash casserole. Nicole is bringing corn, crescent rolls, dessert and drinks. And Christine is bringing a dessert and ice. Yum! Yum! More than all that, we're looking forward to just being together. I don't think we've done a big get-together since Christmas. It will be fun!

Hope you all have a Happy Easter! And remember that Jesus died for you and me so that we might have life! But I'm so happy that He didn't stay in that grave! He is alive forevermore and He lives in my heart!

Wonderful reminder to all of us that He is alive! I hope that you had a wonderful time at your family gathering. Has your "girl" made it home?
