Back to Work

What a week! I started feeling bad on Sunday and then it progressed. Monday was not fun, but I worked. By Tuesday morning I knew I was in trouble. I spent 2 1/2 hours at the Convenient Care Center in Sparta, got some prescriptions and was a little late picking up Courtney from school. I've spent the last two days in bed but finally made it into work again today. Hopefully I can last the day!

I started this blog to figure out if I liked this blogging platform and so far, so good. I think it's a good way to stay in touch when we can't always sit down and email all our friends. And since Mom and Mel have jumped on board with theirs I figured I would too.

As I blogged on EA, Courtney started school on August 15. She went until 9:30 and then Monday, August 18 she had a full day. 8th grade is tough. So much peer pressure, but I am praying with Courtney every morning and night and reminding her that she is SPECIAL and IMPORTANT and a CHILD OF THE KING! As a mother, you wish you could shield your child from the meanness of the world, but I know that all I can do is pray for her and nurture at home.

As I start this day, I am praying for my family and friends. God, give us strength for today and help us to recognize those around us with needs. Help us to have compassion on them. Help us to show them Christ in every action.

Glad you're here too! I talked to Courtney online yesterday about how school was going and she said, "So far so good." She says her classes are easy and a lot of them boring! I hope she finds something she likes and can pour herself into that. I know she's not excited about chemistry right now for sure.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. I know you've had a rough week of it. Keep chugging that Vitamin C and gets LOTS of rest...there is just no substitute for that.
