November Musings

How does time pass so quickly? The last time I posted we were awaiting my sweet niece, Kylie Marie's arrival. She will soon be a year old and is such a joy to her whole family. Her daddy and mommy are my brother, Ryan and sister-in-law, Christine. She is a beautiful blond, bouncy baby girl! I say bouncy, because one of her favorite things to do is listen to you sing while she holds your hands and bounces up and down. Love her!

In October, another sweet piece of heaven joined the Sullivan clan. Miss Journey Nicole is my brother, Jared's and sister-in-law, Nicole's miracle baby girl. She was born to them after almost 15 years of marriage. As she is so small, we haven't seen a lot of her personality yet, but I've enjoyed as many warm snuggles as I could with her the weekend after her birth. I spent a little time with her Sunday night since her mommy was in town for some of her family gatherings. More snuggles to come this Thanksgiving weekend.

My nephew, Gentry is in Kindergarten this year. That does not seem possible! He is learning to read and doing so good in school. I love the little man he is becoming. Speaking of little man, he got his first deer when deer season started in Mississippi. He's got his daddy in him when it comes to hunting that's for sure! So proud of him!

A major milestone in my life this year occurred when my daughter celebrated her 16th birthday in July. We had a huge party with friends and family and she said it was everything she'd dreamed it would be. I was somewhat emotional as this was a day I always thought I'd be sharing with her Daddy Dave who passed away when she was small. But, in spite of the bittersweet moments, it was a joyful celebration. She has since become a licensed driver and is becoming quite independent. I want to pull back on the reins of time at some moments, but I'm so proud of her and the lovely lady she has become. When I listen to her deep and insightful thoughts, I feel so blessed to know her and in awe that God placed her in my hands to raise and guide along life's path.

Thanksgiving is upon us. I'm excited to host it at my house for my family this year. A few months ago we all lived near each other, but we are now all in different towns spread across three states. So this will be a treat for us all this holiday season!

I pray that the upcoming holidays will be full of joy for you and yours.

Blessings and peace,

Christy
