Christmastime is here!! It has caught me a little off guard this year. I just finished my tree last night. We will soon be welcoming a new member into the Sullivan family and that has consumed a lot of our thoughts this fall. My brother Ryan and his wife Christine are expecting their first child (a baby girl) very soon and so it promises to be a fun-filled baby-holding Christmas season. More on her when she arrives!
Courtney started her sophomore year of high school this past August. She has made awesome grades and we are proud of her and her accomplishments. The big events for her this semester have been getting her class ring a couple of weeks ago and getting her braces off this week. Fortunately, she only had to wear them one year. She will get her retainers on Tuesday. She has been taking guitar lessons for about a year and a half. She is also a member of her high school chorus and they performed beautifully at their Christmas concert this past Tuesday. I love to hear a school chorus. Such soft, melodic harmonies. The thing she is most looking forward to in the coming year is spending a lot of quality time with her soon-to-arrive baby cousin.
We have had two winter events this past week. Snow on Monday and ice last night. Snow I can do any day. Ice is another matter altogether and it made for a very interesting (read harrowing) drive to and from work today. Can we warm up to at least the 40s, please? However, Courtney has enjoyed her snow days.
I'm looking forward to spending time with our families these next couple of weeks and making many memories. I hope that your holidays are wonderful and that Jesus is the center of your celebrations.
Blessings and peace,
Christy
