Last Friday we moved into our new home. It was a yahoo day! After over five years of planning, our dream became a reality! It will take some time to get things unpacked, settled and decorated enough for it to feel like home, but we are off to a good start. I love the tranquility of the place! When I wake in the morning, I look out my window and the first thing I see is the lake gently rippling from the wind. I like to sit out on the porch and listen to the bullfrogs, birds and all God's creatures. As summer comes on we'll hear more of the night sounds you expect in the country. It's a wonderful way to sit and reflect on all the wonderful blessings in my life. I find myself walking around and humming or singing hymns without conscious thought. It Is Well With My Soul is the one that keeps popping up these days. I'm so grateful for the peace of God in my life.
My two shih tzus love it in the country. They just roam and explore a lot. They think they've found doggie heaven I'm sure!
One thing I'm really excited about is my new craft room. I will have a custom-built scrapbooking/stamping room for myself and any friends that want to come scrapbook/stamp with me! Right now I'm trying to plan the room so it will be organized and efficient, so if anyone has any tips, please let me know! If something worked great for you... or if it didn't... all that would be helpful information. My sister got me interested in scrapbooking back in 2000 or so and in 2003 I started stamping cards and then anything that was alterable thanks to my friends Linda in Illinois and Sharon in Texas.
Courtney and I were able to spend a nice evening with my sister and nephew last night. Courtney is off school today so she is spending the weekend with my sister. They will have great fun! First, we sat down to a scrumptious dinner of lobster ravioli in a yummy cream sauce and salad with rolls. Of course Courtney opted for chicken fingers. :) For dessert, we feasted on chocolate covered strawberries. After that, we sat and talked and looked at pictures I had on my laptop. Mel is going to organize them for me. Thanks Mel! Courtney had uploaded some videos of Gentry on my computer and he was getting a big kick of watching himself. We also got to meet Beignet, Gentry's new white bunny. She was so sweet! After I got home I spent a couple of hours looking through decorating magazines. So many choices and decisions to be made, but it's a fun process!
I hope this finds you all well! Enjoy your weekend. Take time to stop and smell the roses in life.
